These work just like regular earrings. You can see more pictures on my etsy that give you a better view. I do make fake and real gauges too!

Do you mean the turquoise paper? I just cut that with fun scissors and punch a hole in the top so I can hang them on my display at cons.

Is it thick enough to hold the weight of the earrings or does it curl if its not laying flat?

It's a really thick card stock so it holds them pretty well! The earrings are not nearly as heavy as they look.
