Tentacle Gauges Fanime by KTOctopus Tentacle Gauges Fanime by KTOctopus
Here is a big image of most of the gauges I made for Fanime and one lovely lady that let me photograph her with a pair she bought on.

Currently I am not making fake gauges as I have had some issues with getting the bullet backs to connect properly with the posts. Out of a pack of 20 backs only 8 or so will have a good connection and even then I don't know if they will really hold until the earring is done. If anyone knows of good bullet/butterfly earring back for fake gauges let me know!

I have been making lots of normal earrings and necklaces for AnimegaCon in Vegas this month!

if you have a problem with the back staying on, id suggest that you stick it in, prebake your tentacle and then after it is cooled, stick the post through and then press some clay around the backing to make a secure hold, make sure you press the post all the way through since most people have different ear lobes xD sorry if this is a little late I just came across you while searching for ideas, I make gauges myself but I don't sell them, theyre usually for personal benefit. although I've made quite a few (failed) fake ones, ive learned from my mistakes but then I just ended up gauging them anyway. hope I helped! xD click here for a pic of my personal own (real)

I bought those silicone/plastic ones which are pretty long compared to the butterfly ones. I guess that will make it easier to put the clip in as you dont have to go through it again (to have a decent hole). I havent got the chance yet to try it out but it will be definitely easier than the butterfly ones!

Thanks! I was considering the rubber ones since they have such a strong hold, but I'm worried about baking them into the clay. I think it's worth a shot though.

No probs :D But I guess it wont be too much of trouble when they are baked. But better: GOOD LUCK to both of us for this :P

No problem!~ Actually, I like all the stuff you make. They're really neat :)
Quick question; Is it hard to make stuff like that? It must be at least a little difficult, they turn out so well :D

It can be. I make each one by hand and don't use a mold. I think that surprises people the most. As I work I have found through trial and error what works and what doesn't, which can be frustrating. But It has been a fun learning process and when I overcome the difficulties or figure out a solution to a problem it makes it really exciting. :D

I've been wondering how I could make faux plugs & tapers! I like the style of gauges but don't wanna stretch my lobes. VERY lovely tentacles~
